A handful of things you might find useful
The EYFS always promises to give us less paperwork, however then we may struggle to give evidence to them of our monitoring and evaluation systems. I’ve put some handy documents here for you to use in your settings. I always try to make documents easy to use and effective, and I hope to save you time inventing your own. Please advertise that you got them from me! We’re all here to help each other!
Peer to Peer
Peer to peer observations are one of the buzz " to do's." I've tried several formats of a form of peer to peer observation, and this one works the best. It's simple to use, and staff can positively review each other's practice. Try it!
Safeguarding visitor information
With safeguarding being a key part of our practice, why not give this sheet laminated for visitors to read as they come in to visit you. Lays out the ground rules for their behaviour regarding cameras and phones and gives them advice for any disclosures children might tell somebody new in the setting!
Photo Consent
A useful document to get all the different permissions for the photos we capture of the children doing all those important and fun things.
Improvement plan
Don't over complicate your improvement plan, keep things easy. If it's easy people will fill them in. Remember improvement plans are for impact, so think how this is going to improve things for your children, what's the impact on outcomes?
